CAFF

The Conservation of Arctic Flora and Fauna (CAFF) working group of the Arctic Council has four guiding principles: 1. The involvement of indigenous and local people and the use of traditional and ecological knowledge, 2. The use of broad, ecosystem-based approach to conservation and management, 3. Cooperation with other conservation initiatives to minimize duplication and increase effectiveness, and 4. Communication of CAFF program activities. BSSN is endorsed within the Arctic Council framework by CAFF.
